Detroit: Become Human is an adventure game from Quantic Dream written by David Cage. It came on Playstation 4 in 2018 and has yet to come for PCs. It is the game from the same company who developed Beyond: Two Souls, Heavy Rain.
Detroit: Become Human has been released for free for PS+ users. Playstation 4 users can play this game for free on their console. The thing about these types of games is that they are so engaging through their playable stories. The game story feels like some movie is going on.
Detroit: Become Human has received mixed reviews from critics. In fact, it is the type of game you can expect from Quantic Dream and moreover, it is one of their best game out there, with sales exceeding 2 million. The critics praised the settings, visuals, smaller moments in the story, main characters, their voice actors but it met criticism on the ground of motion controls and the AI sentience, and mishandling of historical and thematic allegories of race and freedom. The story is engaging but it may feel cliche at times.
The game is not more of a Sci-fi but it is more of a character progression. The plot focused on three main characters, first is Kara, the caretaker who is an android human and has left her owner. The second is Marcus, who is a freedom fighter and an assistant and third is Connor who is the detective model to hunt down sentient androids.
The game is set in far future in 2038 where the world has a lot of android humans who work as slaves helping humans but side by side there is a lot of tension in the world because of the autonomic world. People’s jobs are replaced by android humans. Androids are coming out of their algorithms to be as free-thinking.
There are some moments in the game where it needs quick responses and button-pressing events and sometimes a player may feel that motion control is not going that smoothly and you may not like how the stories are segmented and how many cut-scenes are there. But, the probable outcome or path in the game is high as the game has three main characters and every action will lead to a different outcome. This is a quite impressive part of the game.
On top of all this, players have to play themselves to know how the actual gameplay is.
